- Hyannis may be most famous for its long time relationship with the Kennedy family, and its status as the 'summer White House' during JFK's presidency. Two other presidents were known to visit Hyannis long before John F. Kennedy, they were Ulysses S. Grant and Grover Cleveland.

Ten top ranked amateur baseball teams throughout the Cape compete from June thru August, with a game almost every evening. Don't be fooled by the 'amateur' notation, over 200 former players are now in the Majors. Red Sox Mike Lowell, Jason Varitek and Kevin Youkilis all played here.
